The church exists for two distinct yet interconnected purposes that define our identity and mission.

The church serves as Christ's body on earth—His fullness and complete expression in this world. This means we are not separate from Christ but the very means through which He continues His work. Every gathering, every ministry, and every act of service should reflect His character and nature.

Jesus commissioned His church with the Great Commission, empowering us to make disciples of all nations:

God has designed the church to function with divine diversity united under His lordship. This unity in diversity prevents both chaos and uniformity, creating a beautiful symphony of service.

No believer is unimportant in God's design. Each person has been gifted by the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the entire body. This means participation in church life is not optional—it is essential for the health of the whole community.

Ministers serve Christ and His people as faithful stewards entrusted with God's mysteries. They are accountable to Christ, not seeking personal glory but serving the body's spiritual growth and unity.

The Corinthian church struggled with divisions over leaders (1 Corinthians 1:12), misuse of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 14), and lack of love in communion (1 Corinthians 11). Without love, even the most spectacular spiritual gifts, profound knowledge, and sacrificial service become meaningless noise. Love is not merely emotion or sentiment—it is the very essence of God's nature and the foundation that gives meaning to all Christian activity.

Love is the greatest virtue because it fulfills both faith and hope and endures forever. While faith will be sight and hope will be fulfillment, love will continue throughout eternity as the unchanging character of God Himself.

Recommit to serving in the church not from mere duty or personal ambition, but from genuine love for Christ and His body. When love motivates our service, it transforms both the servant and those being served, bringing glory to Christ and building up His church.

The church that operates in love—submitting to Christ as head, practicing love in all things, and pursuing unity over division—becomes a powerful witness to the world of God's transforming grace and the reality of His kingdom.
