The Greatest of All

You can speak with power, prophesy with accuracy, give generously, or even die for a cause—but if love is absent, it profits nothing. "Though I give my body to be burned..." Even the greatest sacrifices can be rooted in pride rather than genuine love. Martyrdom itself profits nothing if love is absent from the motive.

The crucial lesson is this: it is not what we do that matters most, but why we do it. Everything done without love loses its eternal value. When we serve, give, or speak, we must ask ourselves: "Am I motivated by love for Christ and others, or by a desire to be noticed?"

Start with small steps: Speak kindly, forgive quickly, listen patiently, serve humbly. These simple acts, when motivated by love, carry eternal significance.

Remember that love is measured not by how much we receive, but by how much we give—expecting nothing in return. God calls us to reflect His nature through genuine, self-sacrificing love that seeks the highest good of others.
